The G family is so near and dear to my heart! The boys have grown from toddlers to preteens in the blink of an eye.  For this session, mom wanted to make it special – location, wardrobe, the whole nine yards — I must say it was one of the most epic and amazing shoots thus far!  As a SW Washington family photographer I love the diversity of locations surrounding us. I also love that traveling anywhere in the PNW with its natural beauty rarely disappoints!  The San Juan Islands of Washington State are breathtakingly beautiful and the perfect location for a truly memorable family session.

Into the flowers and woods we went.   I love the bond these two brothers share.  Can you tell which one has a goofy side?!?!

This family is full of so much love and laughter – can you tell who told a silly joke for this pose?!

It’s truly a beautiful moment when a husband can make his wife burst into laughter!  The amazing hazy sunlight that danced off the waters of the Puget Sound created a dazzling background.

Mom may be outnumbered in a house full of guys, but these 3 have some serious style!

Mom jumped back in and this stunning portrait has to be one of my favorite!

If I had to pick my favorite spot on the San Juan Islands, it would be Lime Kiln State Park.  The views and stunning sunsets cannot be beat! I just knew it was the perfect location for this family’s session!

Among this couple’s many talents, is sharing their thoughts and experiences through writing.  As a couple, they wrote a beautiful article for HomeFront magazine on marriage entitled “Opposites Attract”.
I was thrilled that the below image was featured with it as it is to true to who they are!

As the sun began to sink, we walked down to a beautiful hidden gem known as “Grandma’s Cove”.

This couple has such a beautiful story that is a true testament of their love for each other.  Through cross country moves, growing a family, deployment, and much more they are still as passionate today, as when it all started!

As we talked, planned, and scouted out the final location, mom wanted to end splashing in the water!  If you have ever dipped your toes into the waters of the Puget Sound, even on the hottest of days, it is chilly!  As the sun was quickly fading they bravely ended their session with splashes of salty water and lots of laughter!
